Lawyer for the tech world

Law without the fine print, for people who build tech.

Contracts, equity and exits explained the way you think: clear, direct, no surprises. I help developers, freelancers and tech employees sign (and not sign) with confidence.

The first consultation has a fee — deducted from the matter if you hire me.

Why me

You don't have to explain your world to me

People who work in tech have problems —and contracts— that look nothing like everyone else's. I move in that world every day.

  • Your contract isn't like the rest

Equity, vesting, RSUs, IP assignment, non-competes, foreign jurisdictions… terms that don't even show up in an ordinary employment contract.

  • Unions can't reach it; the usual lawyer can't either

Unions don't know your reality. And with a traditional lawyer, often neither do they understand you, nor you them.

  • With me, you speak your own language

I know your sector, your problems and the way you think and express yourself. I don't have to translate your world: I already know it.

Practice

How I can help

The essentials for your tech career, straight to the point. Something else? Just ask.

Contracts & IT freelance

Review and negotiation of service agreements, NDAs, SaaS and freelance contracts. So what you sign actually means what you think it means.

  • Service agreements
  • NDAs & intellectual property
  • SaaS clauses & SLAs

Equity, stock options & RSUs

Vesting, cliffs, RSUs and the tax side of your equity comp. Understand what you actually own before you accept the offer.

  • Vesting & cliffs
  • Stock options vs. RSUs
  • Tax impact in Spain

Exits & severance

Exit negotiations, settlements, severance and non-compete clauses. Leave with what's yours and without over-signing.

  • Settlement & severance
  • Exit agreements
  • Non-compete & exclusivity

Also Immigration & relocation for tech profiles (visas, digital nomad, transfers). Not my main focus, but if you need it we'll look into it or I'll refer you to the right person.

How I work

Simple, the way it should be

No unnecessary jargon and no surprises on the invoice.

  1. Tell me your case

Drop me a line and we book the first consultation. I listen and get straight to the point, no legalese.

  2. I lay out your options

In plain words: what you can do, the risks, and what I'd recommend. With a clear quote.

  3. We act, I keep you posted

I handle the case and update you at every step. You decide, I execute.

Fees

Aligned incentives

I don't work on a pure “no win, no fee” basis, and I don't pile up cases hoping some pay off. I charge in a simple, honest way and, when it makes sense, I tie part of my fee to your results.

If it's not viable, I won't take it

Cases with little legal merit don't interest me. Before taking anything on, I tell you honestly whether it's worth the fight.

If it's viable, I go all in

I give it all the time and attention it needs. That has a price —modest, but real—: charging fairly is what lets me work well.

Part tied to results

In many cases I add an amount conditioned on success. If things go really well, my outcome is tied to yours.

Your guarantee is twofold: your lawyer is genuinely invested, and won't drag you into cases with no future.

About

Hi, I'm Jesús

I'm a lawyer, and I've spent years translating legal language into something you can actually understand. I work mostly with people from the tech world: developers, freelancers, startup and scaleup employees who run into a contract, an equity offer or an exit and want to decide with a clear head.

The way I work is the way I'd want to be treated as a client: I speak plainly, reply fast, and tell you what I think — not what you want to hear. I work in Spanish and English, in Madrid and remotely.

This is my personal brand. I'm part of the firm Madridabogados

FAQ

What people usually ask

Does the first consultation have a cost?

Yes. The first consultation has a fee — it's real work and I take it seriously. And it's fair: if you then hire me for the matter, I deduct what you paid for that first consultation from the cost of the matter.

Do you work remotely?

Yes. I work with clients across Spain and with tech professionals remotely. We meet over video and sign digitally when needed.

Can you review an offer or contract in English?

Absolutely. I work daily with English documents —contracts, equity offers, NDAs— and explain it all in whichever language you prefer.

How fast do you reply?

Usually within 24–48 business hours. If it's urgent, let me know and I'll prioritise it.

If I have to attend a meeting, will you come with me?

Of course, I usually do. I just need enough notice to arrange it.
